Introduction To Floristry


This introductory course will include a basic introduction to flowers, treatments, conditioning and tools. You will explore different ways to arrange flowers and create contemporary
arrangements. Includes hands on experience using interesting forms in flowers and other
mediums. Learn how to assemble bouquets, create posies, techniques of wrapping and the use of ribbons. You will also learn the importance of colour in floral arranging and how to use wires. Includes information on qualifications & education pathways and day to day shop

This exciting course will introduce students to the fascinating world of the Celts. Four Celtic regions will be examined for their similar and dissimilar features - Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, and Galicia (north west Spain). Steep yourself in the history of these fascinating regions. Have introductory classes in the Irish, Welsh, and Cornish lan-guages. Immerse yourself in the ancient sagas of Ireland, Wales & Cornwall. Enjoy a reading of a recently discovered Cornish me-dieval miracle play. Explore the ancient mu-sic, and meet your Celtic ancestors in the genealogy section.

For the love of singing

Sick of singing nursery rhymes and TV jingles? Do you want to learn how to breathe, project and sing on pitch? Do you enjoy singing interesting and challenging songs with other people?

If you answered YES to all these questions then “FOR THE LOVE OF SINGING” may be just what you’re looking for!
For the Love of Singing is a casual singing group for people who want an informal and fun experience while learning the basics of good singing technique.

WHAT: It is an 8 week course with an informal approach. Mums are particularly welcome as there is a small outside play area for the children and some toys to keep them occupied.

WHEN:
Tuesday mornings, 11am—12.15pm beginning October 7th , 2008 - Minimum number of participants required!

HOW MUCH:
$50 or $40 concession for the course. This includes music, folder of notes and a CD of practice tracks.

Reflexology

Foot Reflexology: this 8 wk course is de-signed to enable the participant to give a good foot massage either by itself or as an adjunct to massage. Reflexology works on the basis of the foot (or hand) being rep-resentative of the whole body, and stimu-lation in certain spots will also stimulate different places in the body. No experi-ence is necessary. Emphasis will be placed on practical hands on sessions.

Learn the skill of making your own soap using the traditional cold process method.
Your soap will be made without the use of unnecessary & harmful artificial chemicals,
additives or preservatives, using only vegetable oils. Hand made soaps retain the
naturally occurring emollients which are removed in commercial soaps.
